Should we all be so excited for Series 3?
Hey there again fellow Sherlockians and all our lovely followers here at Fandom News Daily! All 101 of you!((Stay tuned- I think we’re planning a giveaway!))
Can’t believe we have come this far- thanks for all your love and support! Again, I am so proud to be reporting all the latest news for the Sherlock Fandom, and I think i speak for all our reporters when I say we love giving you all the latest gossip concerning your shows!
Anyway, I want to quickly apologize for my inactiveness recently, but my text posts were broken. Alas, they’re fixed now, so COMMENCE THE NEWS!
Ok, preface- I don’t know how credible “insiders” can be. However, this does paint a gloomy picture that Series 3 will be the last for Sherlock.
IT IS BELIEVED THAT SERIES 3 OF SHERLOCK COULD BE CASE CLOSED FOR OUR FAVORITE CONSULTING DETECTIVE.
We all know Benedict Cumberbatch, the outstanding actor who shot to super stardom because of his amazing portrayal of the legendary sleuth alongside co-star Martin Freeman ((41 today- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!)) as Watson. And it is common knowledge that Series 3 of the hit BBC adaption Sherlock will commence filming a third series of the hit BBC show early January 2013.
However, with both The Cumberlord and Freeman now enjoying flourishing film careers, what with “The Hobbit” and “12 Years a Slave” insiders admit that there are no plans for further episodes beyond “BOW”.
“Benedict and Martin love Sherlock. It’s been fabulous for both of them but it’s a question of schedules,” newspapers have been told.
“They will no doubt be signing off in style.”
As previously mentioned, the duo have also been working together in New Zealand on the new Hobbit trilogy. While Freeman has the lead role of Bilbo Baggins, Cumberbatch plays the dragon Smaug. ((sqee!))
Currently starring in the BBC drama Parade’s End,which is also another massive hit, Benedict will also portray the as yet unnamed villain in the
forthcoming Star Trek movie.
Such a busy man- but surely, owing so much to Sherlock must mean that he has the heart to carry it on? We all know we have a LONG wait in between!
Now he can keep the Sherlock writers on their toes, he claims mischievously.
“I need to have some more talks with them and tease them about the fact that I do have a career outside of Sherlock now, so they’d better write something.”
Really Benedict? We all know you’re a lovely, talented, busy man but as I said, surely in the time we have to wait for a new series and the amount of time it to film ((approximately 6 months- The Hobbit trilogy is taking over 2 years)) you can fit it into your busy schedule?
I sure hope so. Please look at what Sherlock has made for you, Benedict, and consider if you could give all that up.
Keep believing Sherlockians!
